Dear Friends —
First, I want to thank you for your support of my continued work on the City Council. I strongly believe that Cambridge is an inclusive and kind community and I want to ensure that its resources and opportunities are available to everyone. I am grateful for your guidance and advocacy, your participation in community discussions, and your willingness to speak up about the ideas that concern you. With your help, we have made significant progress on the issues facing Cambridge.
As you know, there is still much to be done. Housing prices continue to increase – out of the reach of many of our neighbors. Our schools must prepare students to enter a dynamic economy and our communities must remain safe and inclusive. Our work continues.
It is for this reason that I am running for re-election to the Cambridge City Council.
This election is a tough one, with many aspects of Cambridge’s future on the line. Twenty-six candidates are vying for nine spots on the Council.
With your help, I hope to voice your concerns and ideas as I work to provide our community with the services they deserve. I believe I have the vision and experience to lead the way over this next term, and focus my work on strengthening our community. In the coming weeks, your ideas and efforts will be appreciated as the campaign accelerates and we work toward an inclusive Cambridge.
In the weeks to come, every little bit helps to run a successful campaign. Whether you can hang a sign, knock on doors, host a small gathering, or simply tell a friend about my work as Councillor – it all helps me continue to fight on your behalf. Please get in touch if you would like to help! Please e-mail volunteer@timtoomey.org if you are interested in helping me advocate for an inclusive Cambridge. You can also stop by my office at 550 Cambridge Street or call 617-491-1846. By joining my e-mail list below (or by clicking here: http://eepurl.com/b4Twgn), you will be the first to know of any news from me.
The election is on November 7. I need your #1 vote. I would be happy to assist you in getting an absentee ballot or arranging a ride to the polls.
Talk to you soon,
Tim
