Tim Toomey currently serves as a member of the Cambridge City Council. Tim was born in Cambridge, raised in East Cambridge, and resides on Sixth Street. He is a graduate of Matignon High School and earned a degree in government from Suffolk University in 1975.

Tim has dedicated much of his life to public service. He was elected to the Cambridge School Committee in 1985, and then to the Cambridge City Council in 1989. In 1992, he was elected as State Representative for the Massachusetts 26th Middlesex District. Tim proudly served the public in his dual roles as a City Councillor and State Representative for over twenty years.

Tim continues to focus on serving Cambridge by providing outstanding constituent services to the city’s residents, and fighting for safe, livable neighborhoods and affordable housing.
