Bike the Bow Tie

Yo dawg, I heard you like to bow tie.

The bow-tie-shaped borders of Cambridge measure nearly 13 miles, and on Saturday, September 29th, you can join with your neighbors on a well-dressed ride around town. The Cambridge Bicycle Commission is sponsoring its sixth annual Bow Tie Ride, and as always, this event is free and open to all (though kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult). You can find a list of FAQs here.

The fun gets started at 10am at the Cambridge Public Library (449 Broadway) with a quick orientation. At 10:30am sharp, the ride begins, and about two and a half hours later, you’ll arrive back at the library.

Don’t have a bow tie? That’s okay, they’re optional, but since OoO Tie is co-sponsoring the event, you might considering picking one up. Or you could enter to win one of three free bow ties at the end of the event.

Don’t have a bike? That’s trickier, because unlike bow ties, bikes aren’t optional. Thankfully, the folks at Urban AdvenTours are offering a special $25 daily rate for anyone who wants to participate in the Bow Tie Ride. To rent a bike from Urban AdvenTours, call 617-610-0637 and mention the Bow Tie Ride.
