In addition to tonight’s meeting regarding ethanol transporation, residents of East Somerville may wish to attend a community discussion regarding a possible new residential development. The proposed development would create a five-storey, 120-unit apartment complex on the site of the current Stop ‘n Shop at intersection of Cross St. East and Mystic Ave. The meeting will also focus on appropriate changes to pedestrian crosswalks and the development of a new green space on the site of the old Harris Playground.
As always, the concerns of the neighborhood factor heavily into any development discussion. If you live, work, or commute near this area, I encourage you to attend.
UPDATE: There is also a community meeting for the City of Somerville’s Community Development Block Grants, beginning at 5pm in the Central Branch Library (79 Highland Ave.). I know there are a lot of community meetings tonight and that it will be tough to attend all of them, but if you can make even one, you’ll be helping to shape the future of our communities!
