There’s still snow on the ground, but the Sox are in Fort Meyers and the days are getting longer. That means baseball is right around the corner, and both Somerville and Cambridge have announced tryouts and registration dates.

The East Cambridge Little Baseball League will hold tryouts and registration on Saturday, March 9 from 9-10:30am at the Frisoli Center (61 Willow St.). Registrants will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate and a registration fee of $60 made out to the ECLBL. At the same registration event, you can also sign up for tee-ball or Farm League for a $30 registration fee. All players who wish to try out must bring their own glove.

Registration for all levels of the Somerville Little League have been open for more than a month, and players can register online. Player evaluations will take place on Saturday, March 2 from 11am-2pm in the Somerville High School gym (81 Highland Ave.). Scholarships are available, as are discounts on your registration fee.
