Tomorrow, a group of Somerville High students will square off against a group of students from Lincoln-Sudbury on WGBH’s High School Quiz Show. Somerville’s team features a strong mix of both proven veterans and up-and-coming rookies, and unlike the Patriots, no one on the Somerville High Trivia Team is expected to run into a referee during this weekend’s competition.
Only the top 16 public school teams in the state compete on High School Quiz Show, so it’s fair to say that these students are already champions. Of course, these students are smart enough to know that “you’re already champions” is just something adults say: there can be only one, and Somerville’s team is brainy, quick on the buzzer, and hungry. Go get ’em, Somerville High Trivia Team, and if they change the rules to allow a lifeline, please feel free to call me.
The matchup against Lincoln-Sudbury begins at 2:45pm tomorrow and will be broadcast on March 3. You can attend the taping and support Somerville High from the audience by registering here.
