Yesterday, more than 118 million Americans made their voices heard in the voting booth. That’s a testament to the strength of our republic and to the tireless work of everyone involved, from local election officials to volunteers who donated thousands of hours of their time.
I’m thrilled and humbled to have won another term as your State Representative, and my pledge to you is the same it has always been: I will work hard every day for the people of Somerville and Cambridge, I will be open and responsive to my constituents needs and concerns, and I will never take a moment in this job for granted.
We still face challenges, both as a nation and as a Commonwealth. And with yesterday’s election in the books, we can turn our attention to the important task of making government work for all of us.
I’d like to say thank you to everyone who helped my campaign, congratulations to Senator-elect Warren and Representative-elect Kennedy, and of course, to President Obama, who is hopefully enjoying a day at home with his family.
